Average Stack: 165,000
Despite players being deep stacked relative to the blinds at the start of Day 2, action has been fast and furious so far. Players haven’t been shy about putting chips in the middle and an early beneficiary of that is Frank Guerra.
In the span of two hands, Guerra has moved his stack up to over 360,000, immediately making him a force.
The first major hand saw Guerra limp in from the hijack which was followed up by two limpers taking his lead before Chang Lee raised to 10,000 from the small blind. Only Guerra called and the two saw a 6♥2♣2♥ flop. Lee led out for 10,300 and Guerra called to see the 5♣ hit the turn.
Lee continued his aggression, this time betting 21,000. Guerra wasted little time in moving all-in for 129,100 total and Lee was put to a decision for a large portion of his stack. After thinking for a few minutes, Lee gave it up and Guerra showed 6♦6♣ for a flopped full house which led Lee to say he folded pocket queens.
A few hands later, Guerra opened to 25,000 and Michael Johnson three-bet all-in for his last 100,000. Guerra snap-called with K♠K♣ which had the Q♥Q♦ of Johnson dominated. The board ran clean for Guerra and he now sits with one of the top stacks in the room with only 17 players left.
