The Hammer

Just A Few Days From ‘The Hammer’

hammer.jpgAfter a record breaking Pittsburgh Poker Open series through March and April, the Rivers Poker Room is just a few days from what should be another extremely successful event. ‘The Hammer’ will boast a never before seen tournament structure and a massive guaranteed prize pool that should see a sizable field come together over the next week.

This $100,000 GTD event will see eight starting flights run thought the next few days, with two flights, the first starting at 12 PM and the second starting at 7 PM, playing out from Wednesday, May 11th to Saturday, May 14th. Those starting flights will carry a $220 + $30 buy-in and see players start with 25,000 in tournament chips.

Each Day 1 session will play 12 25-minute levels before players bag and tag their chips but after the final Day 1H flight concludes on Saturday night, there is still a chance to get in the action. That’s because this THE Hammer allows Day 2 buy-ins, at a higher price point that will award players 100,000 in tournament chips.

Players that elect to wait until Day 2 to get in the action will pay $1,000 + $100 and be awarded 100,000 chips, good for just over 30 big blinds. Those Day 2 buy-ins could pump this prize pool even higher and while the Rivers Poker Blog blog won’t be here to follow the action, we will be posting information leading up to the event and throughout the starting flights.

Throughout the week, the Rivers Poker blog will be posting results from all eight THE Hammer starting flights. A complete The Hammer structure can be found here and be sure to follow both Will OC Media and @RiversPokerPitt on twitter for all your Rivers Poker Room updates.
