PNIA Main Event (Day 2): Jack Schanbacher Climbs The Leaderboard

PNIA Main Event
Level 17 (4,000/8,000/1,000)
Total Entries: 270
Total Remaining Players: 40
Chip Average: 337,500 (42 bb)

Jack Schanbacher recently eliminated a player and now sits with 505,000 as the money bubble looms in the Poker Night in America Main Event.

Despite coming into today with 140,000, about 100,000 under the chip average, it only seemed like a matter of time before Pittsburgh’s own Jack Schanbacher would be able to use his tournament experience and patient play to move up the chip counts.

In a recent hand, Schanbacher opened to 18,000 from early position and faced a three-bet shove of 107,000 from Brian Kulp. Schanbacher said it was close but eventually called with 55♠ against the K♣10♣ of Kulp.

The K10♠5♣ flop provided Kulp with a quality sweat and Schanbacher with a set of fives. The turn and river ended up bricking for Kulp and he was eliminated 10 places short of the money. Schanbacher now sits with 505,000 which looks to be a stack that is hovering near the top five on the leaderboard.
