PNIA Main Event (Day 2): Deeb And Kelley Lead Near The Bubble

PNIA Main Event
Level 18 (5,000/10,000/1,000)
Total Entries: 270
Total Remaining Players: 36
Chip Average: 375,000 (38 bb)

Jay Kelley has moved up the leaderboard in quiet fashion so far on Day 2 and sits second in chips only trailing Shaun Deeb with players close to the money.

Sitting at the same table as World Series of Poker bracelet winner Shaun Deeb is certainly not an enviable task. Jay Kelley has been seated on Deeb’s direct left for all of Day 2 and while being in position certainly makes life a bit easier, Kelley has done more than satisfactory work in building his chip stack to 740,000 after starting the day with 332,500.

Kelley is second in chips trailing only Deeb who holds 990,000 as we are only six players away from bursting the money bubble.

Deeb brought the field one closer to being paid as he eliminated Michael Pempin when he called Pempin’s three-bet shove of 112,000 after he initially opened to 21,000. Deeb’s K♣10♠trailed the K♠Q♠ of Pempin but the K♥103flop quickly changed that. Pempin did not find any additional help and hit the rail as Deeb chipped up.

The top five stacks in the room are listed below.

Shaun Deeb – 990,000
Jay Kelley – 740,000
Jonathan Love – 700,000
Matt Taylor – 630,000
Jake Sung – 600,000
