PNIA Main Event
Level 4 (200/400/50)
Total Entries: 76
While Rivers runs three Pittsburgh Poker Open series throughout the year, in between each PPO series they run their Three Rivers Poker Challenge series. Those series usually boast three main events and each culminate with $1,000 buy-in Main Events.
Last month, Ohio’s Casey Yontz claimed the TRPC Main Event title and a $26,000 score and he’s making his first PPO appearance of the series trying to defend that recent Rivers victory. Yontz is also trying to add to his PPO resume, after he final tabled the PPO Fall Main Event the last time Poker Night in America came to Pittsburgh.
That 6th place finish earned him a $13,000 score and while he’s done most of his damage at other stops, amassing over $400,000 in career earnings, Yontz will hope to keep his Rivers run going this weekend. As it stands, the PNIA Main Event is midway through Level 4 and there are just over 75 total entrants through this first starting flight.
The PPO blog will continue to bring you updates from this Main Event throughout the early levels while keeping it’s focus on the Event 30 final table. That field is still ten-handed and will be returning from break to Level 18 shortly.
