PNIA Main Event
Level 11 (1,000/2,000/300)
Total Entries: 112
Poker Night in America have run a few Main Events at Rivers and their first stop in Pittsburgh was in November of 2013. That PNIA Pittsburgh Poker Open Main Event drew nearly 300 players and until this past weekend, that was the biggest event in Rivers history.
Larry Pileggi ended up taking down that PNIA Main Event, outlasting a stacked final table to take home the title and a nearly $72,000 score. Since then, Pileggi has added two more PPO titles to his trophy case, as well as a handful of WSOP tournament scores from this past summer but he nearly ended last year with another PPO Main Event victory.
The Pittsburgh native finished 5th in November, good for another $16,000 score, and it looks like he’s regained that form here today. He’s currently playing 165,000 at a relatively strong table but there might not be a more experienced PPO Main Event player in today’s field than Pileggi.
He’s right outside the current top-five and with a handful of deep PPO Main Event runs over the last few years, we imagine we’ll be seeing more of Pileggi throughout the rest of the weekend.
This PNIA Main Event Day 1A flight is heading towards the end of Level 11 and once Level 12 begins, there will be just over 45 minutes remaining in the late registration period.
